The remarkable advances in animal biotechnology contrast with the lack of events addressing regulatory aspects in this field. For this reason, a group of biotechnology researchers, developers, regulators, and advertising companies have met informally to discuss issues of common interest. The most recent event was co-organized by IICA in São Paulo in 2022. In this context, the University of California, Davis, and IICA jointly proposed to carry out virtual and in-person events in animal biotechnology from 2024 to 2027.
Objetivo General:
To support the development of animal biotechnology regulation by conducting both virtual and in-person seminars.
Objetivos Específicos:
  1. To carry out the II virtual hybrid seminar on animal biotech during year 2024.
  2. To carry out in-person seminars on animal biotech (GMOs and GnEd) during the year 2025.
Resultados Esperados:
  1. Participantes seleccionados de las Américas, actualizados y concientizados en regulación de la biotecnología animal mediante la realización de seminarios presenciales que permitan considerar la eventual generación de regulaciones nacionales sobre transgénicos y productos editados.
