The international community emphasizes multilateralism and coordinated actions to address climate change's impact on agricultural trade. IICA Member States aim to enhance sustainability and innovation, and they plan to collaborate to strengthen their involvement in climate change discussions.
Objetivo General:
Contribute to building greater political leadership mainly in the ministries of agriculture for climate action in the Americas agriculture sector and visibility of the contributions and needs of the sector in multilateral fora.
Objetivos Específicos:
  1. Develop negotiator capacity and stengthen regional dialogue to enable a more active and informed participation of the sector in the UNFCCC processes.
  2. Bring together USDA and other public and private technical experts to exchange and advance toward a more climate responsive agriculture sector and advance US public policy goal and iniciatives (Sustainable Productivity Growth -SPG- Coalition, AIM4C, The Global Methane Pledge, for example) internationaly.
Resultados Esperados:
  1. Apoyados los procesos de negociaciones climáticas en el marco de la CMNUCC que permita una mayor visibilidad y posicionamiento del Sector Agropecuario dadas las contribuciones y necesidades que el Sector dispone.
  2. Los actores involucrados en los procesos de la CMNUCC participan y elaboran procesos técnicos que contribuyen a potenciar y posicionar el sector agropecuario con prácticas de menor emisión de carbono.
