This initiative seeks to strengthen the technical and coordination capacities of the representatives of Latin America and the Caribbean to the Codex Alimentarius; it also seeks to ensure that the member countries of the Codex Alimentarius Coordinating Committee for Latin America and the Caribbean (CCLAC) are strategically aligned to promote the implementation of regional positions in this area. This initiative is carried out under a cooperation agreement between IICA and the U.S. Dairy Export Commission (USDEC).
Objetivo General:
To strengthen technical capacities around Codex Alimentarius.
Objetivos Específicos:
  1. Support planning webinars and delegate travel
  2. To achieve a more effective representation from the private sector and countries in Codex Almientarius.
Resultados Esperados:
  1. Strengthened coordination among LAC private sector representatives for Codex Alimentarius, via targeted online colloquiums in advance to priority Codex Committee meetings.
  2. CCLAC member countries strategically aligned to promote the implementation of regional positions in the area of Codex
  3. Strengthened negotiation capacities of Codex National Delegates.
