IICA plans to research the effectiveness of leveraging the widespread availability of mobile telephones throughout the Americas to deliver web- and application-based training materials that align with the curriculum requirements. Similarly, IICA plans to use these platforms to provide easy access to relevant portions of the rules and other important documents, allowing users to refresh their knowledge as needed.
Objetivo General:
To develop alternative technologies and methods to greatly augment the availability of high-quality training opportunities using existing curriculum for the development of other training materials if needed such as low literacy material, in support of the Produce Safety Rule (PSR).
Objetivos Específicos:
  1. Design and conduct controlled experiments to test the efficacy of alternative training materials against in-person training techniques
  2. Refine alternative training materials, package them into new delivery methods, and test and validate both the materials and delivery approaches through pilot projects.
  3. Design and conduct household surveys to measure the short, medium, and long term impact of different training vehicles and compare the results.
