Descripción
The current intervention builds on an earlier activity undertaken by IICA and FAO in 2018 where producer groups in 9 countries received capacity building support in governance. However, out of that programme it was recognized that further work in governance and support to access markets was required. As such, given the ongoing work of the FAO and thematic focus of the Institute, it was agreed that this intervention would be undertaken to facilitate increased access to domestic and regional markets. The activity will focus on at least 12 producer groups across 6 countries in the Caribbean. The value chains to be examined will include honey, roots and tubers, jams and jellies, sauces etc.
