The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Trinidad and Tobago focused on agri-food digitalization, climate action, sustainability, and agricultural health. Initially, it promoted digital modernization using GIS to prevent flooding in agricultural areas and the open-source software Quantum GIS for mapping agricultural zones. It also implemented a resilient agriculture project to support rural communities in adopting natural solutions. Finally, it offered food safety training to small food processors and other community members interested in agricultural health.
Objetivo General:
IICA's purpose in Trinidad and Tobago is to provide technical cooperation of excellence that is aligned with national priorities for agricultural and rural development and with the vision and mission of the Institute, using institutional resources and mobilized resources from partners and donors.
