Descripción
This agreement builds on previous capacity-building efforts by USDA/FAS in the LAC region. It includes the resolution of several stringent technical regulations and import documentation requirements, improved risk-based inspection, surveillance, and sampling procedures, and harmonized regulations at a regional level.
Objetivo General:
To implement technical assistance and capacity-building activities in Latin America and the Caribbean. Also, provide logistical and technical support for workshops, such as identifying participants and experts.
Objetivos Específicos:
  1. 1. Encourage science based and trade facilitating policy reform in LAC countries based on international standards.
  2. 2. Harmonize regional technical regulations to foster trade in the LAC region particularly with the United States
Resultados Esperados:
  1. Capacities of selected LA countries to achieve the development and adoption of science based standards have been increased.
