The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines strengthened beekeeping, promoted agricultural development and supported climate actions with a focus on climate-smart agriculture. He established a queen breeding apiary to supply producers and supported the organization of the XI Caribbean Beekeeping Congress in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. In addition, it developed a strategic framework for tree crops, benefiting coffee cultivation, and created product profiles for sweet corn, sweet potato, and honey. Implemented demonstration model plots with training on farmer properties and provided an application to strengthen the capacities of the Ministry of Agriculture in extension and advisory services.
Objetivo General:
IICA's purpose in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is to be a modern, resource-saving delegation that generates excellent public goods, through a process-based approach to technical cooperation actions, which positions the Institute as the partner of choice for sustainable development initiatives in agriculture or for rural development in the country.
