Descripción
The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Saint Kitts and Nevis provided technical cooperation in agricultural health and food safety, improvement of agri-food products, technology and agricultural strengthening. In addition, it reduced the incidence of pests and diseases such as fruit flies, black Sigatoka in bananas and plantains, Asian citrus psyllid (ACP) and African swine fever (ASF). It also introduced machinery to increase the use of mangoes, reducing the import of the product. The Institute joined forces with the Government of Argentina for "ApiCaribe", a regional project to improve honey production and productivity. Finally, it trained extension workers in greenhouse gas monitoring.
