Descripción
The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in Dominica collaborated with agricultural sectors to support the best of their conditions. In addition, it strengthened alliances with strategic partners, knowledge dissemination, and the incorporation of the ecosystem-based approach in agricultural systems, in collaboration with IAMovement and the University of Florida in Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Dominica. The Institute also increased food and environmental resilience by assessing the impact of hurricanes on the food security of farming communities in Dominica. Finally, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, it supported the beekeeping sector through training and study tours on the management of apiaries, pests and diseases.
Objetivo General:
IICA's purpose in Dominica is to be the partner of choice in the transformation of the agricultural sector to improve rural livelihoods and improve resilience to climate events through resource mobilization, networking, technology transfer and best practices.
